Adjectives and Adverbs 

Adjective (before the noun) - Place the adjective(s) before the noun that it is meant to describe.

Adjective (after a linking verb) - Place the adjective(s) after the linking verb that is related to the noun.

Adjectives (order) - When using two or more adjectives they should be ordered by: number, quality, size or shape, age, color, origin, and type.

Adverb (-ly) - Modify this verb with an adverb. Adverbs can be created for most adjectives by simply adding -ly to the end.

Misplaced

Misplaced Modifier (word) - It is uncertain what this word is intended to describe (or modify). Rewrite the sentence so that the intended meaning is more clear.

Misplaced Modifier (prepositional phrase) - It is uncertain what this prepositional phrase is intended to describe (or modify). Rewrite the sentence so that your intended meaning is more clear.

Misplaced Modifier (present participle) - It is uncertain what this present participle phrase is intended to describe (or modify). Rewrite the sentence so that your intended meaning is more clear.

Misplaced Modifier (past participle) - It is uncertain what this past participle phrase is intended to describe (or modify). Rewrite the sentence so that your intended meaning is more clear.

Misplaced Modifier (dependent clause) - It is uncertain what this dependent clause is intended to describe (or modify). Rewrite the sentence so that your intended meaning is more clear.

Dangling Modifier - This modifying phrase (i.e., dangling modifier) is not clearly connected with the rest of the sentence. Rewrite so that your intended meaning is more clear.
